Censoring themselves
Like moss in a Northwest forest the economy hangs heavy over the heads of some social networkers who, in better times, might have been more blasé about their social media musings. Twenty-nine percent of employees surveyed for a recent Deloitte study said the downturn has them paying more attention to what they divulge online.
Other findings:
7 percent knew of a co-worker who had been fired for inappropriate posts
2 percent admitted a past post to Twitter, Facebook, or MySpace cost them a job opportunity
