Bloomberg Philanthropies’ What Works Cities hit its adoption rate target and now has 100 mid-sized cities participating in a network that aims to enhance their use of data to improve cities nationwide, Fast Company reports. With two-thirds of eligible cities having already applied for inclusion, a spokesperson for the program said it will continue to add cities beyond the initial target. The program, launched in April 2015, is designed to accelerate the growth of ideas and evidence-based solutions across cities. Simone Brody, the initiative’s executive director, said, “city leaders are looking for outcome-dependent solutions: these places are setting firm progress goals, and asking partners to track and measure their own progress to ensure impacts get made.”
