About the IAPP

Hele Jonsson is VP Group Legal Security in Telia Company AB, which is one of the largest telecommunication operators in the Nordic and Baltic region with over 20 000 employees.

Mrs. Jonsson joined Telia Company AB as Group Chief Privacy Officer in January 2018 where she acted as a business owner for GDPR program covering Nordic and Baltic subsidiaries as well as the Group Functions. Thereafter she continued as Group Legal Privacy Director where she is leading the team of Privacy Legal Counsels in Telia Company’s footprint and is responsible for promoting and providing business-oriented privacy legal advisory across all business units and functions in Telia Company.

Before joining Telia, Mrs. Jonsson was working in Business Sweden which is owned by state of Sweden and the Swedish business sector and which helps companies to succeed abroad and in Sweden, as a Legal Counsel responsible for all legal matters, incl. GDPR compliance, and as a Regional Operations Manager for Central and Eastern Europe. Additionally, she has worked in a regional law firm and in a Nordic-Baltic bank.

In addition to Master of Arts in Law Mrs. Jonsson has an MBA degree from Stockholm School of Economics. She has served as Member of the Board of Directors in International Technology Law Association as well as co- and vice-chaired different committees in this organization.
