About the IAPP

JC is responsible for supporting the implementation of Strykers US privacy strategy to ensure compliance with state and federal privacy laws (e.g. HIPAA, CCPA). He also partners with divisional/regional Legal Counsels, Compliance Officers and other functions to manage legal risks and accelerate innovation by enabling the business to maximize the use of personal data to enhance the customer experience.

Prior to joining Stryker, JC served as Associate Director and Privacy Officer for Jackson Health System in Miami Florida. Prior to that, JC served as a Judicial Intern for the United States District Court, Southern District of Florida and Law Clerk for Liebler, Gonzalez and Portuondo, P.A.

JC earned his bachelor’s degree in Economics from Florida International University and J.D. from American University Washington College of Law. He resides in South Florida with his wife, daughter and doodle.
