About the IAPP

Lejla leads the Data Protection Team of Ernst & Young in the Netherlands. She was designated as DPO in May 2018 and has since also taken on a role as Data Protection Coordinator for the Western Europe & Maghreb region of EY.

Lejla informs and advises EY entities and EY personnel with respect to obligations under the GDPR and other EU data protection requirements. She is e.g. responsible for the drafting of guidelines and procedures in consultation with key stakeholders, managing how data breaches and data subject requests are handled, as well as proving for appropriate training & awareness to EY personnel. She is furthermore also responsible for GDPR monitoring EY’s compliance with the GDPR and other EU data protection provisions, and is thus involved with the internal reporting and auditing processes.

Lejla has more than 12 years’ working experience. She started as a lawyer at Van Mens en Wisselink N.V. after which she became Legal Counsel at Heineken.

Lejla obtained the CIPP/E and CIPM credentials from IAPP. Besides this, Lejla is a member of the Dutch Association for Privacy Law (VPR).
