About the IAPP

Thays is a senior associate at Mattos Filho and focuses her practice on the TMT industry, with special focus on telecoms regulations, technology, internet, and data protection. She assists foreign and national companies in complex transactional work, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and administrative litigation with the Brazilian Telecommunications Agency – ANATEL. She also advises on privacy and data protection matters involving the Brazilian Data Protection Act (LGPD). She holds an LL.M in U.S. Law from Washington University in St. Louis, a postgraduate diploma in Digital and Telecommunications Law and an LL.B from Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie. She is a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), with certification on European data protection regulation (CIPP/E), and the Brazilian Telecommunications and Technology Law Association (ABDTIC). She worked at Mattos Filho’s office in New York City as part of a one-year internship program focused on serving U.S. clients.
