Parker Smith is Legal Counsel for Ochsner Health System in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he handles a variety of transactional matters related to information technology, intellectual property, and data. Prior to joining Ochsner, Parker was an of intellectual property and commercial transactions associate attorney at Stone Pigman Walther Wittmann LLC. He is a Certified Information Privacy Professional for the U.S. Private Sector (CIPP/US) and serves as the Co-Chair for the New Orleans IAPP KnowledgeNet Chapter.



Parker is also the Chair of the Technology Law Committee of the New Orleans Bar Association and is a member of the Intellectual Property Law Section of the Louisiana Bar Association.



Parker received his J.D. and Graduate Diploma in Comparative Law from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center, Louisiana State University, where he was inducted into the Order of the Coif and served as the Managing Editor of the Louisiana Law Review. Prior to law school, Parker taught middle school math, science and social studies through the Teach For America program in the Greater New Orleans Area. He also received a B.S. in Economics and B.A. in Philosophy and Political Science from Tulane University, graduating Phi Beta Kappa.
