Mrs. Irith Kist, LLM, MA, BA holds a triple academic degree in international and European law, tax law and political science. In addition, she is a sworn translator, court and notarial interpreter in the English language. She specialized, inter alia, in privacy law and is employed with the Netherlands Cancer Institute as a Data Protection Officer where she is also involved in Cancer Core Europe.

 

Irith is a renowned speaker at both national and international conferences in the field of privacy law. She addressed the public governmental conference in the Netherlands in March 2018, and she was a moderator at the World Summit on Internet Accountability at the Peace Palace, The Netherlands in May 2018. In October 2018, she was in Norfolk, US, where she was invited to speak at Van Deventer Black Law Firm, specialized both in privacy law and health care. In April 2019, Irith was a guest speaker and panelist at the 13th International Pharma Congress, held in Athens, Greece. In October 2019, she was invited to give a presentation at the Genomics Health Conference in Boston.



Irith engages the audience, motivates the debate, and has in-depth knowledge of the field. Furthermore, she loves to coach law students and young colleagues in their career path. Her approach is holistic: a question always has various angles and perspectives. Irith is delighted to be one of the members of the Women Leading Privacy Advisory Board of the International Association of Privacy Professionals and looks forward to a fruitful cooperation. 



Additionally, Irith is an external PhD candidate with the Law Faculty, Leiden University. Her PhD research focuses on the limits to the burden of consent by patients over their personal data.”
