Gbenga Odugbemi is a privacy attorney currently working in the Advisory practice of Ernst & Young (EY) as a Cybersecurity & Privacy, Senior Associate. Most of his work at the firm is focused on helping organizations in different industries comply with relevant privacy regulation(s) as it relates to them. His focus also includes the assessment of the privacy stature or maturity of organizations so as to highlight the gaps therein, and drafting reports on discovered laxities with detailed remediation plans for such organization’s senior management. Gbenga has helped several organizations in different industries ranging from the healthcare industry to the financial, technology, and manufacturing industry, etc.  Prior to EY, Gbenga worked at a similar firm, PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC), in a similar role where he supported the privacy compliance efforts of his clients on several projects, and before PwC, worked at MasterCard Inc. as an Associate in the company’s legal services department.  A seasoned privacy professional, Gbenga has supported his clients internationally with branches spanning three to four continents having started practicing law as a Privacy Attorney at a commercial law firm in Nigeria, before moving to the United Kingdom, and now the United States.  Gbenga’s interest, aside from privacy, includes intellectual property law, contracts, Artificial Intelligence (Machine Learning) and how privacy relates to it, etc. He enjoys writing articles on arising issues in different legal aspects. In his free time, he loves to volunteer for causes he supports, play soccer, cook, and engage in interesting/educative debates.
