Legal Counsel & Data Protection Officer

Strongly passionate about data protection and the ethical use of new technologies, I started working in the privacy field when the General Data Protection Regulation was still at draft stage and witnessed first-hand the impact of its entry into force. In 2018, I was among the first professionals in the world to cover the role of Data Protection Officer as set out by the GDPR. Working in the cruise industry, I face a multitude of different scenarios each day, as the ships cruise through different ports and jurisdictions. This keeps my curiosity peaked and my privacy skills sharp.

As privacy laws around the world continue to evolve and shape the business world, my primary challenge is to monitor compliance with the GDPR and set strategies to address and reduce risks. I communicate with customers, business partners and teams on cross-border issues in English, Italian, French, German and Romanian.

When I am not at my desk, I like to actively participate in the privacy community. As Founding Member of the Swiss DPO Association and KnowledgeNet Chapter Chair for Switzerland, it is my mission to ensure that privacy professionals have plenty of occasions to exchange views and share ideas.
