Kathryn Burns
Ms. Burns is the Senior Director of the Critical Security Controls program at the Center for Internet Security (CIS). She leads an international community of cyber security experts who develop best practices known as the CIS Critical Security Controls, a set of actions proven to mitigate the most prevalent cyber threats. In addition to daily operations of the program, she develops initiatives to promote awareness and increase adoption of the CIS Controls by public and private organizations. Previously, Ms. Burns served as a Senior Communications Strategist at the Defense Department where she advised leaders on employee communication, change management, and strategic planning.
