About the IAPP

Arianna was born in Athens in 1979, Arianna is married to John Papadopoulos and has two daughters, Nikoletta (age 4+) and Christina (age 1+).

Graduated in 1997 from the General Lyceum of Vari Attica with excellent, she has been a Law Graduate of the University of Aberdeen School of Law in Aberdeen, Scotland, since 2002, with an LL.B. in Laws and German Laws with Honours (2:1) and a Diploma in German Law from the Albert-Ludwigs-Universitat-Freiburg in Germany since 2001. In 2002 she received a Master of Laws Degree (LL.M) with Merit from the University of London (University College London) in London, UK, with a specialization in Communications and Computer Law and she went on to receive in 2007 a Master of Science degree (MSc.) in Business Studies for Lawyers from the ALBA Graduate Business School in Athens, Greece, specializing in advertising, intellectual property, investment banking and financial services.

                Arianna is a fully qualified and skilled advocate, before the Supreme Courts of Athens, Greece, a member of the Athens Bar Association and practicing lawyer since 2006. She is a competent negotiator and a data protection and privacy specialist with a proven record of more than ten (10) years diversified working experience in the areas of electronic communications, Information Society Services, and a general legal expertise in all corporate, stock market, commercial, civil and criminal aspects of a business entity.

Arianna is currently an in-house senior legal counsel and member of the Legal Division of a Greek well-structured Group Company in the Telecoms & Media Sectors (“Nova”), counselling the Group on all data protection and privacy compliance related matters as well as providing legal advice on a need basis for all other general aspects of law.

                She is a Certified Privacy Professional (CIPP/E) since 2017 and a Member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals | iapp since 2016. She is currently volunteering as a Young Privacy Professional Leader for the iapp and the newly established Athens KnowledgeNet Chapter of iapp in Greece.

                She has extensive and applied working experience in data protection and privacy of communications, data & information security, network security, internet abuse, illegal online activities, cybercime, as well as E-Commerce, E-Business, New Technologies, Computer, Digital Media and Communications related legal matters in general.

She successfully combines legal expertise and working experience from traditional areas of law, such as civil, and commercial law, and the ability to apply it in the technical and business operational environment found in the sectors of Telecommunications, Media and New Technologies.

She has a one-stop-shop and all round approach in providing legal counseling on all aspects (technical, commercial and financial of a legal entity, whether it be in the Public or Private Sector.

Arianna speaks fluently Greek and English and understands French and German.
