About the IAPP

Dr. Mingqiu Song is a CISSP, CISA, an associate professor of Dalian University of Technology China and a visiting fellow of OII (Oxford Internet Institute, University of Oxford) in 2009-2010. She is an IAPP Research Advisory Board Member and Mandarin translation reviewer, a board member of the China Software Industry Association (CSIA), director of System Security Engineering Branch of CSIA, member of the Public Safety Standardization Committee of CSEM (China Society of Emergency Management), and member of the Cyber Security Association of China (CSAC). As a security professional, she is members of (ISC)2, ISACA, BCS and IAPP as well.



Her research looks at the changing nature of personal data and privacy by design, information risk management, and secure system development. She has involved in the professional group of the Personal Information Protection Standard from 2007, supervised the upgrade of local standard “Personal Information Protection Assessment (PIPA)” in 2013 and provides security consultant for social and commercial organizations.
