Lisl Brunner is a Director of Global Public Policy at AT&T Services, Inc., where she supports the development and coordination of AT&T’s policy positions on privacy, online safety, and Internet issues.

 

Lisl previously served as Policy Director and facilitator for the Telecommunications Industry Dialogue at the Global Network Initiative, an international multistakeholder initiative that seeks to protect and advance freedom of expression and privacy in the ICT sector.  She also held several positions at the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, where she worked on cases dealing with counterterrorism and the protection of journalists, as well as projects to define Inter-American standards on freedom of expression and the Internet. 

 

Lisl has taught a Human Rights Practicum at Georgetown University Law Center and has published several articles on human rights issues.  She recently contributed a chapter on the right to privacy to the forthcoming publication, New Technologies for Human Rights Law and Practice, from Cambridge University Press.  Lisl holds a law degree from the University of Pittsburgh and a Bachelor’s degree from the College of William & Mary.
