Elena A. Lovoy is Of Counsel at McGlinchey Stafford and focuses her practice on banking, consumer financial services, and data privacy matters. She routinely advises banks, residential mortgage lenders and servicers, and other consumer financial services providers on the licensing, regulatory, and legal issues involved in multi-state product launches and in maintaining lending and servicing platforms.  She also assists companies in demonstrating their compliance to regulators, including the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. She advises companies on compliance with the federal Truth in Lending Act, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Bank Secrecy Act, and other laws and regulations.

 

Elena also assists companies in various industries in establishing and maintaining programs to ensure compliance with federal and state privacy and data security laws and industry requirements. She has conducted mock privacy examinations and assisted companies in implementing remediation measures. Elena has also assisted companies in various industries in preparing for and responding to cyber-incidents. She has managed and coordinated nationwide and multi-state data breach responses and has served as the breach response team leader for banks, mortgage lenders and servicers, retailers, healthcare providers, and other companies. 

 

Elena is a frequent speaker and author on consumer financial services issues and is an on-site instructor for the Ellie Mae/AllRegs Mortgage Compliance for Origination course. She is licensed to practice law in Alabama, Illinois, and Louisiana and is also certified by the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics as a Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP).
