Jo Davaris, CIPP/US
Jo Davaris joined Mercer as its first Global Chief Privacy Officer in 2016. She is responsible for developing and overseeing a privacy program for Mercer that provides appropriate controls and risk mitigation around the use of data while enabling business growth, innovation and opportunity.
Prior to American Express, Jo was an attorney for the Administration for Children’s Services in NYC, where she prosecuted parents that abused and neglected their children
Jo is a former co-chair of the NY IAPP KnowledgeNet. She is currently serving on the Education Advisory Board of the IAPP, as well as the Advisory Board of the Women, Influence and Power in the Law event. She additionally serves on the Board of Directors of Rising Ground, a NYC social services non-profit organization.
She received both her JD and her BA from Fordham University.
