Yesika Ramos Carro, CIPP/US
Yesika Z. Ramos-Carro, CIPP/US, works as Counsel in the Litigation Division of Pietrantoni Méndez & Álvarez LLC. Her practice concentrates on regulatory and compliance issues and litigation relating to the telecommunications industry in Puerto Rico. Ms. Ramos-Carro has extensive experience counseling and representing companies in rulemaking proceedings under the Puerto Rico Telecommunications Act of 1996 and the Federal Telecommunications Act of 1996, such as, universal service, customer proprietary network information, privacy, use and maintenance of rights-of-way, emergency alert systems and quality of service regulations, among others. Her experience extends to the negotiation and arbitration process pertaining to the approval and implementation of interconnection agreements. She regularly represents clients in administrative, court, mediation and arbitration proceedings regarding the enforcement of said interconnection agreements and other commercial disputes.
Her practice also covers representing clients before the Puerto Rico Telecommunications Regulatory Board including appellate matters arising out of said administrative proceedings.
Ms. Ramos-Carro also litigates in other fields of law such as commercial lender's liability, trade secrets, trademarks and contract disputes. She is also involved in consumer protection laws, including regulation of packaging and labeling, telemarketing, cramming, contests and sweepstakes, and protection of privacy.
Prior to joining the law firm of Pietrantoni Méndez & Alvarez LLC, she worked for Fiddler González & Rodríguez PSC as a litigation and regulatory counsel and as law clerk and then as in-house counsel for the Puerto Rico Telephone Company, Inc, and also worked at the Puerto Rico Telecommunications Regulatory Board.
