About the IAPP

Veronika Tonry is the Global Privacy 

Manager at Chevron where she is 

responsible for overseeing the 

enterprise‐wide data privacy strategy 

and  program, and the management of 

privacy and data protection compliance 

and regulatory engagement on a global 

basis.   



Veronika and her team of global 

professionals help business units and 

leadership understand the 

opportunities associated with Chevron’s 

information assets and the risks and 

relevant legal requirements that need 

to be addressed related to the 

collection, use and disclosure of 

personal data.  



Previously, Veronika was the Global 

Privacy Manager for Applied Materials, 

a large semi‐conductor manufacturer 

based in Silicon Valley, where she 

established their privacy program. 

Veronika is a trained economist who has 

twenty years’ experience in Information 

Technology.
