About the IAPP

Katherine Ritchey is Senior Litigation Counsel for Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, Inc., and represents various Kaiser Permanente entities in disputes and litigation matters.  



Previously, she was a litigation partner at a major law firm where represented domestic and foreign entities in a broad range of commercial litigation involving unfair business practices, privacy, contract claims, fraud, misrepresentation, unfair business practice, health care, banking, real estate, breach of fiduciary duty, ERISA, insurance, and licensing.



Katherine has significant experience with data breaches, as well as other privacy, data security, and cybersecurity issues. Specifically, she has defended class action data breach litigation, and related regulatory enforcement actions; managed data breach response, including forensic investigations, coordination with law enforcement, and breach notification; and advised on global privacy and data security compliance issues, company and board responsibilities and best practices, and vendor management. She is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP).
