Katherine Keefe
Katherine joined Beazley in September, 2012 to lead the Beazley Breach Response Services Group (BBR Services). As Beazley’s Global Focus Group Leader for BBR Services, Katherine directs the management of breach incidents reported by Beazley BBR policyholders and develops Beazley’s risk management services designed to minimize the occurrence and impacts of data breaches.
With over 25 years as a practicing lawyer, Katherine has extensive experience in data privacy and security issues and the regulatory and operational challenges of data breaches. A nationally known HIPAA expert, Katherine has provided regulatory compliance and breach response guidance to clients in the health care segment, an industry profoundly impacted by federal and state privacy laws and regulations.
Katherine has counselled hundreds of entities facing privacy, security and data breach issues, including health systems, academic medical centers, children’s hospitals, long term care and rehabilitation providers, accountable care organizations, physician practices, pharmacies, health insurers and employer sponsored health plans. Katherine also represented vendors to the health care industry, including billing companies, IT solutions providers, health information exchanges and quality and utilization management organizations.
