About the IAPP

Purdey Castle (she/her) is a dual-licensed (California, England) attorney at Google with over 15 years' experience advising on technology law. Purdey advises the Product, Engineering, Sales, and Compliance teams on privacy laws, cybersecurity standards, and trust and safety. She also contributes to the development of legal policy, advocating for improved privacy and security protections and keeping individuals’ interests at the center of product development. Purdey serves as a board member of California ChangeLawyers, a public foundation that empowers legal professionals and activists to build a better justice system, and Justice Defenders, a private foundation that equips prisoners and prison officers to facilitate legal processes in prison communities in Africa.
