Carlos Garcia-Maurino, CIPP/E
Carlos Garcia-Maurino is the EMEA senior legal director of privacy and security at Oracle Corporation. He oversees Oracle's compliance efforts with national data privacy regulations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa and is a key contributor in the design of the Oracle global privacy program. He also trains and provides advice to the different lines of businessand commercial legal groups on data privacy and security aspects of Oracle's services portfolio (e.g., cloud computing) and provides strategic guidance to senior management on business decisions that may be affected by data privacy considerations. As part of his role, Garcia-Maurino frequently leads complex negotiations with corporate customers from different business sectors and regions.
Prior to this position, Garcia-Maurino held several senior positions in the Oracle Legal Department, including the management of the compliance and ethics program for the EMEA division. He is an attorney at law with expertise in data protection, IT law, commercial and contract law.
