About the IAPP

Since 2005, Michael Sussmann has been a partner in Perkins Coie’s Privacy and Data Security Practice, resident in its Washington, DC office.  Michael works on a broad range of consumer privacy issues, including data breaches and regulatory enforcement, and has a particular focus on cybersecurity and national security issues.  From 1993-2005, Michael worked at the U.S. Department of Justice, as Special Assistant to the Assistant Attorney General for the Criminal Division, Special Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Eastern District of Virginia, and as Senior Counsel in the Computer Crime & Intellectual Property Section.  Prior to that, Michael worked in the Clinton White House and in the litigation department of Proskauer Rose in New York.
