Flora Garcia, CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPT, FIP
Flora Garcia is Wayfair's Global Director of Privacy and Data Protection and sits within the Information Security organization in Engineering. She is responsible for building Wayfair's Privacy Program to support business innovation and agility, while scaling to meet data protection obligations in our current geographies, as well as emerging markets. Prior to Wayfair, Flora was at security firm McAfee, where she was the Global Chief Privacy Officer and the privacy and information security attorney. She started the McAfee privacy program after the company spun out on its own and led the GDPR compliance efforts for the consumer and enterprise business units as well as the internal employee operations. Flora spent the first part of her career as a journalist, eventually landing at Time Inc. in New York working on magazine websites and managing online magazine subscription operations. She discovered privacy during law school at Fordham University, becoming Time Inc.'s first full-time privacy expert. Flora graduated from Duke University and holds a master's in journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
She has discovered martial arts and hiking and reignited her love of simple and forgiving breadmaking while WFH in San Jose, CA, with her partner and his five energetic kids (ages 6-17). In normal times, Flora plays tennis and loves to travel.
