Julie McEwen, CIPP/G, CIPP/US, CIPM, CIPT, FIP
Julie S. McEwen, FIP, CIPP/US, CIPT, CIPM, CIPP/G, CISSP, PMP is a Principal Cybersecurity and Privacy Engineer and the Privacy Engineering Capability Area Lead within the Cyber Solutions Tech Center at the MITRE Corporation. She leads policy and technical privacy support to federal government organizations and manages privacy operations in support of MITRE’s Chief Privacy Official. Her work often focuses on addressing privacy considerations in the use of different technologies and integrating privacy into larger data governance structures and system engineering processes.
Prior to joining MITRE, McEwen managed privacy and cybersecurity programs and advised organizations on privacy and cybersecurity issues while at the U.S. Department of Defense, Deloitte, IIT Research Institute, the Logistics Management Institute and T. Rowe Price.
McEwen is co-editor/contributing author of U.S. Government Privacy: Essential Policies and Practices for Privacy Professionals (International Association of Privacy Professionals, 2009 and 2013), and she has served as one of the lead faculty for the IAPP's privacy training program since 2005.
