Tim Van Canneyt, CIPP/E
Tim is a specialist data protection and e-commerce advisor and an information technology contract negotiator.
He has significant experience in the fields of privacy, data protection and data security, where he advises clients on their privacy compliance issues, such as consent issues, international data transfers, accurate privacy policies and dealings with the data protection authorities. He has a particular interest in privacy challenges caused by digital technologies and services (big data, cloud computing, internet of things, cookies, etc.).
Tim has been recognized as a leading practitioner in The International Who's Who of Information Technology Lawyers and Legal 500 and is described as "brilliant and clinical, with an acute grasp of the law particularly with regards to privacy, data protection and data security issues".
He is the author of many publications in the field of data protection and information technology and is a guest lecturer ICT contracting practices at the University of Leuven. He is regularly interviewed by journalists on "hot" data protection topics.
