About the IAPP

J++rgen Hartung is specialised in advising enterprises on IT related issues in all types of transactions with a particular focus on data protection matters that take up most of his time. Beyond that he advises on outsourcing or IT projects and on mergers and acquisitions in the fields of IT, e-commerce and m-commerce.



J++rgen Hartung is a partner of Oppenhoff & Partner. He was an associate and managing associateat Oppenhoff & R+ñdler/Linklaters LLP from 2000 to 2007. He studied law and international politics at the Universities of T++bingen (Dr. iur.) and Wales, Aberystwyth. As part of his legal training he worked for the US law firm Baker & McKenzie in New York in 1999/2000. J++rgen is an author of the annotations totelecommunications data protection law published by Kohlhammer, the author of various articles on data protection and a frequent speaker on data protection issues (recently at the Madrid International Data Protection Conference and at a symposium at the European Parliament).
