James Shreve advises companies in addressing complex issues, particularly for new and evolving technology, involving confidential information and the systems that store and transmit such information.  He is a thought leader in cybersecurity and privacy law and has assisted clients in addressing hundreds of data security incidents, including interactions with federal and state agencies, oversight of forensic investigations, consumer notifications, and with remedial steps after incidents.  Mr. Shreve has been recognized twice in the area of Cyber Law (Data Protection and Privacy) as a Next Generation Lawyer by Legal 500 and was named an “Associate to Watch” in Chambers USA in 2015 and Chambers Global in 2016. He is a frequent speaker at conferences, such as IAPP conferences and the RSA Conference.  He is has been named a Fellow of Information Privacy by the IAPP and certified as a CIPP/US and CIPT.
