About the IAPP

Joy Chenault, CIPP/US, joined CarMax in 2001 as a lawyer in the Legal Department handling commercial transactions for the company. Since then, she has been promoted to associate general counsel and is CarMax's privacy advisor.Chenault also advises the business on environmental, records retention, construction and commercial transaction issues.



Chenault received her BA in political science from Dickinson College and her JD from the T.C. Williams School of Law, University of Richmond.
