Tanguy heads Linklaters' Global Data Protection and Privacy practice as well as the Technology Media & Telecommunications/Intellectual Property practice in Brussels. He also chairs Linklaters' Data Protection Executive Board.

With almost 35 years’ experience as a lawyer, Tanguy has developed a comprehensive practice in the field of IT law with a strong focus on data protection and information governance projects as well as IT procurement and outsourcing. Tanguy has been ranked as leading individual in both IT and Data/Protection for years and is acknowledged as a "very experienced lawyer", who is "super approachable and we like how pragmatic he can be." "Even on a hectic day he always takes the time to respond to us." (Chambers Europe: Belgium, TMT, 2021 and 2022).

Tanguy has a thorough expertise in advising multinationals on local and international large scale transactions and regulatory projects for a large spectrum of corporates in a variety of industries. He has been involved in GDPR implementation projects as well as intercontinental data transfer solutions for a significant number of clients across the world.

Tanguy is also the Data Protection Issue Lead of the Digital Economy Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce to the EU, where he has also served as Board member for three years. He was member of the European Advisory Board of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) for four years and chaired the KnowledgeNet in Brussels. He is a member of the Editorial Boards of Digital Health Legal (Cecile Park Media), the Computer and Telecommunications Law and the Global Privacy Law Review (Wolters Kluwer).

In 2018, Tanguy was elected to join the multi-stakeholder expert group of the European Commission to support the application of the GDPR. He has been recently re-elected for a new term.

Tanguy graduated from the University of Brussels (1987). A fellow of the Belgian American Educational Foundation (1990), he also holds a LL.M. degree from the University of Chicago Law School (1991).
