About the IAPP

Cobi Falconer currently works for the City of Vancouver and has been interested in the field of privacy since graduate school (Masters of Archival Studies and Masters of Library and Information Studies) and has extensive experience working in the field alongside FOI and Records Management. Cobi is particularly interested in finding and creating opportunities to raise organizational awareness regarding privacy, FOI and records management in municipal government and understands the inextricable relationship between these three distinct but interrelated areas. Also extremely interested in privacy and (access to) information issues between political boundaries and how organizations embroider these differences into their realms. Cobi is a proponent of approaching access to information as a human right while ensuring personal information is being protected. Making municipal information easily accessible to the public is a priority while ensuring the organization is aware of their role and responsibilities.
