About the IAPP

Noemí Alonso Calvo joined Novartis in February 2016, as the Global Privacy Manager for the Biopharma at Sandoz International GmbH. As of November 2016, she´s been appointed Head of Data Privacy for Global Drug Development at Novartis.

 

She was previously working at Johnson & Johnson as privacy manager, EMEA, since September 2011 until December 2015.



Before that, she worked in different British law firms as a regulatory, IT and data protection lawyer for over 10 years, during which she acquired broad experience in the different fields of public law, including urban planning, telecommunications, audiovisual services, environment, gaming, e-commerce, IP, data protection, electronic communications and new technologies. Noemí also has experience in administrative, sanctioning and contentious administrative procedures. In the past 10 years she has developed an acute practical experience of data protection issues, managing both national and international clients, as well as the internal data protection affairs of the law firms where she has worked.



In December 2011, she acquired the CIPP/E credential. She is a member of the Bar Association of Madrid and is a frequent cooperator with DataGuidance and other international publications on data protection issues. She speaks Spanish, English, French, German, Portuguese and Italian and has a law degree and master's degree from the University of Navarra, and a superior program on telecommunications law from Instituto de Empresa. Noemí has also obtained several specialised qualifications from courses on data protection carried out over the past few years.
