About the IAPP

Mark is a Data Privacy specialist with over twenty years experience. He heads Bristows’ data privacy practice, which is one of the largest in Europe. Based in London, Mark’s team advise many of the world largest and best known companies on data privacy matters, including over half of the world’s top twenty technology companies. He has particular expertise in developing compliance programs within global companies and also specialises in the handling of international data privacy disputes. He has acted on, and coordinated, several of the highest profile data privacy cases around, including before the UK High Court and Court of Appeal and the Court of Justice of the European Union. He has also successfully defended numerous companies in regulatory investigations by numerous EU data protection authorities. Prior to joining Bristows, Mark was at IBM for many years where he was the company’s first Global Privacy Attorney.
