Aurélie Pols designs Privacy best practices for Data Science practitioners and the analytics industry. She spent the past 15 years successfully "following the money", optimizing (digital) data based decision-making processes. She co-founded and successfully sold her first start-up in Belgium to UK based Digitas LBi (Publicis).
Recognized as Most Influential Industry Contributor by the Digital Analytics Association in 2015, Aurélie speaks about Data Protection at numerous Big Data events: Strata + Hadoop World, SXSW, Webitt, IBM SmarterCommerce & Pulse, eMetrics, Ensighten Agility. Today she leads, Mind Your Privacy, following and documenting the data and it's respective flows. When called in, her task is to limit Privacy related backlashes and minimize risk related to increased data uses while also often solving for data quality.
Aurélie teaches Digital Analytics and Privacy & Ethics at Spanish leading business school Instituto de Empresa, IE and Data Governance at Harvard Related ISDI. Her background is in econometrics from Brussels based Solvay business school where she followed up with a Master in eBusiness. She is not a lawyer.
