About the IAPP

Ashleigh is a self-described privacy nerd and dreamer with a passion for learning. Ashleigh loves finding new ways to challenge her thinking and beliefs. Ashleigh is the global Vice President Data Privacy and Protection at NTT Ltd. and is currently based in her hometown of Johannesburg, South Africa, where she lives with her husband, Hein, and two cats, Kit Kat and Nutella. Ashleigh’s portfolio at NTT involves setting the strategic direction and management of data privacy and protection initiatives and implementation across the business’ core functions and technology solutions. Ashleigh believes in designing technology for good and building trust in organizations through the ethical use of data and technology. Ashleigh is recognised as a Fellow in Information Privacy, and she completed her MBA in 2020 at the Gordon Institute of Business Science, where she achieved recognition as the top student in the Mastering Strategic Foresight elective. In addition, Ashleigh holds several professional certifications in data protection and cybersecurity. Ashleigh previously served as an IAPP Johannesburg KnowledgeNet Chapter Chair and has contributed to developing skills and knowledge in the field through several professional speaking engagements and articles.
