Kim is a seasoned professional of 25 years with more than 15 years of data privacy experience spanning compliance, risk, operations, and strategy matters. She’s spent most of her professional life in the financial services arena, with a small stint in consulting for a global IT company - and now, the most enjoyable, a non-profit. Kim is currently serving as the Data Privacy Officer and HIPAA Privacy Officer for Samaritan’s Purse. Samaritan’s Purse is a not-for-profit, nondenominational, evangelical Christian organization that provides spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world. Prior to serving in this Ministry, she worked for Ally Bank as the Chief Privacy Officer and Region’s Bank as the Privacy Officer. Kim began her career with Bank of America, where she worked for 20 years in a myriad of operational related roles that would ultimately lead to her passion for data privacy. She’s a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) and holds the following privacy certifications and recognitions: CIPP/US; CIPP/E; CIPM and FIP. She chartered and co-chaired the first Birmingham IAPP KnowledgeNet Chapter in 2017 and served as the Charlotte KnowledgeNet Chapter Co-Chair in 2021-2022. Kim earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, with a Major in Finance, from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She lives (and works) with her family in Boone, NC.
