Anura Fernando is the principal engineer for Medical Software and Systems Interoperability within UL's Life and Health business. He recently conducted a seminar at Wearables TechCon titled, The Regulatory Environment around Wearables. With the regulatory environment for wearable technologies rapidly evolving, Fernando guided attendees in understanding some of the regulatory compliance basics that a developer of wearable technologies should consider. Fernando is UL's technical lead for the development of the AAMI/UL 2800 standards.
