About the IAPP

Cheryl is the Privacy Specialist at Leidos and serves as the subject matter expert on privacy.  She manages the privacy program, provides guidance on compliance requirements, and handles privacy incidents throughout an international organization. Cheryl has wide experience with privacy across domains including health care, payment information and global personal data issues.  Cheryl works closely with health care related groups and the benefits function to address compliance with HIPAA and HITECH; manages the company’s PCI DSS compliance program, is leading the company’s implementation of GDPR, and has had a significant role in addressing privacy issues supporting multi-billion dollar mergers, acquisitions and spinouts.  She provides guidance to corporate functions and business groups to ensure its agreements with partners and customers, including data privacy protections required to meet corporate business goals.  Cheryl has significant experience in managing the response to complicated data breaches, and is responsible for coordination of the company’s Incident Response Team to address privacy incidents.



Prior to her role at Leidos, Cheryl was the Privacy Specialist at SAIC and assisted the Chief Privacy Officer in the creation of the privacy office as well as provided support for SAIC’s split transaction.   Cheryl has earned her BA in business management and has two privacy certifications:  CIPP-US and CIPM.
