Annabel Fordham is Public Affairs Manager at the Office of the Privacy Commissioner’s Office New Zealand, and is a lawyer with over 17 years of privacy and information law experience. Annabel’s previous roles included working as a survey designer for Statistics New Zealand. Within the Office, she has worked as executive officer and as a senior legal adviser.



Annabel has directed the public affairs, communications, and media work of the Office since 2014. The Office has an active social media presence and public outreach programme and continues to develop its stakeholder engagement and education functions through a programme of regional visits and the development of e-learning modules. She is currently running the Public Good Research Fund round for 2019.



Annabel holds a MA (Hons) in Social Policy, and Bachelor of Arts (Sociology) from Massey University, and an LLB from Victoria University of Wellington.
