Desislava Krusteva is partner in DPC, one of the leading Bulgarian law firms where she is heading the Privacy & Data Protection Practice Group. She is also senior legal expert at the Law and Internet Foundation.



Proven expert in the field of IT law and personal data protection, Desislava’s experience includes advising large multinational and domestic companies on complex information management and privacy issues. She has been legal consultant in technological and cross-border projects from the very development of the business model to its successful launch and day-to-day operations.



Desislava takes pride in being legal advisor to global giants in various industry sectors such as information technologies, telecoms, energy and pharma companies.



Besides her clients’ work, Desislava Krusteva has been largely involved in drafting numerous legislative acts on e-Governance, e-use of public sector information, e-Documents and e-Signatures, e-Communications, e-Commerce, e-Healthcare, e-Identification, etc. She has actively participated in numerous EU projects, most recently being a trainer in educational projects, supported by the EC Rights, Equality, Citizenship Programme and the EC Justice Programme.



Desislava is author of numerous reports and publications and legal expert in many projects on the implementation of the European legal framework, co-author of the book "Personal Data Protection: Mission Possible" and several other books.



She is a regular speaker at conferences and trainings on Personal Data Protection and e-Government and guest lecturer in the most prestigious Bulgarian universities such as Sofia University, American University, University of National and World Economy.
