Della Shea is a member of the Senior Leadership Team for Symcor Inc., a leading provider of payment processing, cash management, statement production, document management and data services. As Vice President of Data Governance and Chief Privacy Officer, Della is responsible for creating and managing Symcor’s enterprise data governance strategy, data management and privacy regulatory compliance programs. Prior to assuming this role, she was appointed to lead Symcor’s new product development function as a key element of transforming Symcor into a data services company. Under Della’s leadership, Symcor was recognized internationally in 2010 with the Privacy Innovation Award presented by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). In 2013 she was selected as Canada's Information Security Executive of the year by Technology Executive Network (T.E.N). Prior to joining Symcor, Della was the Director of Privacy and Information Risk for the Royal Bank of Canada where she provided strategic guidance and direction that helped launch many of the Bank’s most innovative and challenging initiatives during her tenure.

Della is an active member of the privacy, security and data analytics communities and is a frequent speaker for events and conferences relating to privacy, security and leadership. Her work has been featured in numerous publications including the cover story of the August 2013 edition of SC Magazine. She is a Certified Information Security Officer (CCISO), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/C), Certified Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), PCI DSS Internal Security Assessor (ISA) and PCI Professional (PCIP), Pragmatic Marketing Certified (PMC). She holds a Master’s of Business Administration degree from the Kellogg-Schulich School of Business (York University/Northwestern University) and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Acadia University. Della is a member of the Information Accountability Foundation, an advisory board member of the Conference Board Council of Chief Privacy Officers and a former board member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (Canada).
