About the IAPP

Marc is an executive leader with 30 years of experience in the privacy, information governance, and technology risk fields. He is currently the Senior Director and Global Head of Information Governance in the Global Privacy Office of Visa, Inc. Marc is responsible for leading a team of professionals performing privacy impact assessments, implementing technologies to support assessments, implementing retention and deletion strategies for application systems, defining de-identification standards, and other privacy control framework implementation activities. Prior to Visa, Marc was a Director of Privacy for Walmart and was responsible for developing and leading the suspected breach incident response program, overseeing M&A due diligence and post transaction privacy implementation, and other global privacy initiatives. Earlier in Marc’s career he was an information technology audit leader for both in-house audit departments and at a consulting firm. Marc participates in industry benchmarking and think tank organizations and has worked with government affairs and industry organizations to help shape privacy regulations in the US.
