Jens Harkov Hansen, CIPP/E
Jens Harkov Hansen is Director and head of the data protection team at Accura law firm, advising on all aspects of data protection and privacy law, including mapping of data flows and privacy compliance programmes. Jens has previously worked at the Danish Data Protection Agency and the Danish Ministry of Justice where he acquired extensive knowledge of and experience within data protection and privacy law. During his employment with the Danish Data Protection Agency, Jens e.g. worked with international data transfers, including Binding Corporate Rules, and attended meetings in a EU context. At the Danish Ministry of Justice, Jens worked broadly with the area of data protection in the Constitutional Law Division and was the Danish representative at the initial meetings on the preparation of the EU General Data Protection Regulation in Brussels. In addition, he is the author of a number of articles on data protection and privacy issues. Jens also undertakes a considerable amount of teaching and training activities and has been a part-time lecturer at the University of Copenhagen since 2006. He is further a frequent speaker on data protection and privacy issues at seminars, courses and conferences, both nationally and internationally. In addition to being a member of IAPP, Jens is a member of the association “Danish IT”, the network “Copenhagen Data Protection Forum” and the Danish Association for Data Protection Law.
