Guillaume Desgens-Pasanau is a French Magistrate. He graduated with honors from the French National School for the Judiciary (Ecole Nationale de la Magistrature). He served as Head of the Legal Department at the French Data Protection Authority (CNIL) where he worked for 8 years. He also served as a Lawyer in Deloitte then in Ernst & Young, where he regularly advised many multinational companies and public organizations on how to ensure compliance with the French Data Protection Act. He is the author of the first professional text-book to the attention of DPOs, it was published in 2013 by LexisNexis in France.



Guillaume currently teaches Data Protection & Privacy Law at the National Conservatory of Arts and Crafts (Conservatoire national des arts et métiers — CNAM), which is a leading higher education and research institution where he launched the Certified Data Protection Officers (DPO) Programme. Since 2015, he is also in charge of the first French Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC) where he promotes the protection of personal data on the Internet.
