About the IAPP

Jennifer currently serves as the Divisional Lead Counsel for LexisNexis Risk Solutions – Health Care. She has 18 years’ experience as general counsel, chief privacy officer, and data privacy subject matter expert. Most recently, Jennifer has concentrated on leveraging big data within the health care ecosystem. Jennifer is responsible, in part, for reviewing regulatory developments that impact insurers and health care practitioners, namely HIPAA and HITECH. Jennifer also ensures that the organization is HIPAA- and FTC-compliant. In 2014, she was one the original architects of the Florida Information Exchange. This platform enabled EHR file-sharing across multiple operational platforms, as well as billing platforms and fraud detection across Florida. Jennifer has also been retained to assist in the design of HIPAA/HITECH-compliant platforms for two states and their respective insurers under the Affordable Care Act. During that time, Jennifer assisted regulators, insurers,  and integrators in developing implementation guidelines across various stakeholders to identify strategic needs for health care payers (CCIIO, CMS, HHS, state regulators). She has appeared frequently before the respective state oversight committees as well.
