About the IAPP

Jennifer Ma, FIP, CIPP/C, CIPT, CIPP/E, CIPM, B.Com., LL.B. has over 21 years’ experience in private and public sector technology organizations in the legal, GRC and privacy field. She is a firm believer in being adaptable, coming up with creative solutions, and providing pragmatic guidance. Currently, Jennifer leads the privacy program at Hootsuite as the Senior Director, Privacy & Product Compliance and Data Protection Officer. Hootsuite is in a dynamic space, providing a social media management solution for organizations. 

Prior to joining Hootsuite, Jennifer has been involved in developing corporate policies, establishing risk management practices, developed and managed privacy programs in other software companies and a Crown corporation, as well negotiated and managed software licenses, distributor agreements and intellectual property matters. She is a NSW, Australia, lawyer.

Jennifer has been a speaker, participated as an advisory board member, and moderator at data privacy and security conferences on topics including the GDPR, security and privacy strategies, and implementing privacy programs in complex environments.
