About the IAPP

David Wilhite is a lifelong advocate of privacy, and became a practitioner of it before he knew it was a field.



Professionally he has 25 years of experience in IT, and 9 years in Information Security.  He currently serves as a Deputy CISO for the State of South Carolina.  Building on his experience in the private and public sectors, in customer service, software engineering, system integration, security operations, and incident response, David now maintains responsibility for information security policy and compliance efforts across a statewide scope.



Privacy remains his secret love.
