About the IAPP

Peter Olsthoorn (1960) studied social history at Erasmus University, covered the revolutions in Central and Eastern Europe and worked for trade publications in England, Germany and the US before becoming one of the first 'internet journalists' in Europe. He worked for many papers and magazines in The Netherlands, wrote books about Google, Facebook, digital privacy and Internet history and performed for radio and TV to talk about these subjects. Peter obtained his doctorate in 2021 with a dissertation on self-determination in privacy.
