Assistant Commissioner, Strategic Initiatives and Knowledge Management

Kim Kreutzer Work joined the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta in 2012 and became the Assistant Commissioner, Strategic Initiatives and Knowledge Management, in 2019. She is involved in a number of areas, including reviews of proposed legislation and programs and government, stakeholder and cross-jurisdictional consultations. 

Kim started her career in access and privacy in 2002 when she joined the Government of Alberta ministry responsible for the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP). She was part of the team that developed and implemented PIPA and its subsequent amendments, provided technical support to the special committees of the Legislative Assembly during their reviews of PIPA and FOIP, and published interpretative resources for organizations and public bodies.   

Kim received her law degree from the University of Calgary in 1982.
