About the IAPP

Diplômé de Telecom ParisTech et Sciences Po Paris, ingénieur des Mines, Bertrand Pailhès a travaillé à l’ARCEP et à la CNIL au service de l’expertise technologique avant de rejoindre, en 2013, le cabinet de la ministre déléguée à l’économie numérique, Fleur Pellerin.

En 2015, il est nommé directeur de cabinet d’Axelle Lemaire, secrétaire d’Etat au numérique et a notamment travaillé dans ce cadre sur la loi pour une République numérique adoptée en octobre 2016.

Depuis juillet 2018, Bertrand Pailhès était coordonnateur national de la stratégie pour l’intelligence artificielle à la Direction Interministérielle du Numérique.

Il a rejoint la CNIL en novembre 2019 en qualité de directeur des technologies et de l’innovation.

A graduate of Telecom ParisTech and Sciences Po Paris, and a Mines engineer, Bertrand Pailhès worked at ARCEP and CNIL in the technology expertise department before joining the office of Fleur Pellerin, Minister for the Digital Economy, in 2013.

In 2015, he was appointed chief of staff to Axelle Lemaire, Secretary of State for Digital Affairs, where he worked on the Digital Republic Act adopted in October 2016.

Since July 2018, Bertrand Pailhès has been national coordinator of the strategy for artificial intelligence at the Interministerial Directorate for the Digital Economy.

He joined the CNIL in November 2019 as director of technology and innovation.
